On the Dotted Line offers a vivid portrait of Domenico Zindato's three-decade career as a self-taught artist whose intricate, meditative drawings have earned international acclaim. Born in southern Italy and now based in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Zindato (b. 1966) has developed a singular style where abstract and figurative forms merge in rhythmic patterns and vibrant colors, achieved through a tactile, intuitive process he likens to acupuncture.

From his early work in theater design in Rome to his immersion in Berlin's post-punk and electronic music scenes-where he was photographed by creatives such as Wolfgang Tillmans-to his connection with nature and shamanic traditions in Mexico and the Amazon, Zindato's life and art have been shaped by both euphoric communal experiences and contemplative solitude. Influenced by psychedelic states, ritual, and the visual languages of indigenous and visionary art, his work reveals a profound sensitivity to the interplay between the seen and the unseen.

Discovered by the late Phyllis Kind and represented by Andrew Edlin Gallery since 2009, Zindato continues to create densely detailed compositions that offer viewers a transcendent vision of the world within and beyond.

This hardcover book highlights a selection of Zindato's recent works, ranging from large paintings to delicate painted leaves collected from his garden. Released alongside a new exhibition of the same title at Andrew Edlin Gallery in June 2025, the book features an essay by scholar Julián Sánchez González, an interview with Zindato conducted by Director Aurélie Bernard Wortsman, and over 30 plates of recent works, along with images from the artist's archive.
